Bilan définitif de l'accidentalité routière en 2020
 
À la suite de la diffusion d'un bilan provisoire le 29 janvier 2021, l'Observatoire national interministériel de la Sécurité routière (ONISR) publie un bilan consolidé et définitif de l'accidentalité routière de l'année 2020. Accidents, personnes tuées, personnes blessées : tous les indicateurs sont en baisse dans une année marquée par la pandémie de la Covid-19. Selon l'ONISR, 2 780 personnes ont perdu la vie sur les routes de France (en métropole et outre-mer) en 2020. La mortalité routière est en baisse de 21% par rapport à l'année 2019.

La Sécurité routière distribue des éthylotests pour inciter à l'autocontrôle 
Du mercredi 9 au samedi 12 juin, dans 10 grandes villes de France, la Sécurité routière organise une opération de distribution d'éthylotests pour inviter les Français à s'autocontrôler après avoir consommé de l'alcool. « La vie reprend et on a tous besoin de souffler ; surtout si on veut qu'elle dure encore longtemps », c'est ce message que rappelle sur son emballage l'éthylotest qui est distribué en terrasses, dans les grandes artères animées des villes d'Aix-en-Provence, Bayonne, Bordeaux, Dijon, Lille, Lyon, Montpellier, Rennes, Strasbourg et Tours. L'alcool reste aujourd'hui, avec la vitesse, l'une des deux principales causes de mortalité routière.

Un comité des études de sécurité routière sur la thématique des seniors
Le 9 juin, dans le cadre du comité des études de sécurité routière consacré aux seniors, Catherine Gabaude (Université Gustave-Eiffel) a présenté le projet « Concert-âge » qui permet d'optimiser la concertation et le partage de connaissances entre équipes de recherche françaises et étrangères ainsi que le montage de projets collaboratifs pour une mobilité saine et sûre des personnes âgées. Sylviane Lafont et Claire Pilet (Université Gustave-Eiffel) ont quant à elles présenté l'étude SELFIE qui s'intéresse aux déterminants et conséquences de la régulation de l'activité de conduite automobile chez les personnes âgées. Enfin, Geneviève Laferrère (Fédération française des usagers de la bicyclette) a présenté une étude portant sur le vélo à assistance électrique. La thématique du vélo sera aussi abordée lors du prochain comité des études du 7 juillet consacré aux mobilités saines.

Étude scientifique et opération de sensibilisation : santé et comportement des conducteurs poids lourds
La Fondation VINCI Autoroutes pour une conduite responsable publie les premiers résultats d'une étude inédite sur le comportement au volant et la santé des conducteurs de poids lourds. 515 conducteurs de 18 nationalités ont été interrogés sur plusieurs aires d'autoroutes dans le cadre d'une enquête terrain. L'objectif est de mieux connaître les comportements de ces conducteurs pour mieux orienter les messages de prévention qui leurs sont destinés. Une opération de sensibilisation a été organisée le mardi 1er juin par la Fondation au cours de laquelle les conducteurs de poids lourds ont participé à plusieurs ateliers pour les informer sur les risques au volant et leur donner des conseils pratiques pour mieux les prévenir.

Une opération de prévention routière lors d'un événement sportif
À l'occasion du Tour de France qui débutera dans quelques semaines, la Fête du Tour s'est déroulée le week-end du 29 et 30 mai à la Plaine départementale des Sports à Châteauroux. La coordination de la sécurité routière de l'Indre a accueilli près de 300 visiteurs, pour les sensibiliser sur les angles morts, la réglementation liée aux engins de déplacement personnel ou encore proposer une révision du code de la route avant les premiers départs en vacances.

Journée sécurité moto dans le Pas-de-Calais
La coordination sécurité routière de la préfecture du Pas-de-Calais a organisé, le samedi 22 mai, sa première journée sécurité moto à Méricourt. Le matin, les participants se sont mesurés sur différentes épreuves (quiz sécurité routière, maniabilité, freinage). Le vainqueur a remporté un gilet airbag, les 4 autres lauréats ont remporté des équipements motos (dispositif Cosmo, casque, gants). L'après-midi était réservée à une balade pédagogique d'une cinquantaine de kilomètres.

Premières journées reprise de guidon
Les 5 et 6 juin derniers se sont déroulées dans l'Aisne, au centre d'examen du permis de conduire de Laon, les premières reprises de guidon de la saison. Près de 150 motards ont participé à de nombreux ateliers. Pendant qu'un groupe révisait la trajectoire de sécurité sur les belles routes du département, en compagnie des gendarmes motocyclistes de l'Escadron départemental de sécurité routière (EDSR), l'autre groupe participait à des ateliers maniabilité sous la tutelle des formateurs professionnels bénévoles, freinage, angle mort, atelier équipement avec démonstration airbag, atelier mécanique moto et stand sécurité routière tenu par les intervenants départementaux de sécurité routière (IDSR). Le directeur de cabinet du préfet, Jérôme Mallet, était accompagné par le commandant de l'EDSR Raphaël Rolland, du chargé de mission 2RM de l'Aisne Alain Bonnard et de Pascal Dunikowski, chargé de mission 2RM national.

« Ton portable dans la poche »
La Fondation RoadCross Suisse lance une campagne pour sensibiliser aux dangers de l'usage du téléphone sur la route. La campagne s'adresse autant aux automobilistes qu'aux piétons et aux cyclistes. Elle rappelle que la moindre distraction, même courte, peut causer un accident grave. La campagne met les usagers à contribution en les invitant à diffuser la campagne à leurs proches avec le #cdanslapoche.
